Let's Celebrate the Small Things!

This hop comes with easy instructions:
sign up, post something to celebrate,
hop around and cheer on others, bask in warm glow.
Full instructions and badge here.

This week I'm celebrating:

1- My WIP: added another 6,000 words and got some editing done.
This means that:
2- I'm about to start sending it out for beta reading. EEK!
3- Wine! Nothing frees my mind better to get ideas down on paper,
so yes, I celebrate it. *Cheers*
4- We are FINALLY doing better health wise in our home.
5- My twins are two years and five months today.
Their laughter is the best sound in the world, hands down!

What are you celebrating?

  1. Six thousand is a lot! Don't fear critiques. Good partners are worth their weight in gold.

  3. Wow, if wine helps that much, I'm going to start drinking it too when I write ;) Happy 2 years and 5 months to your twins!

  10. I'm in awe at the quantity of your writing! Best of luck with the Beta read - something to celebrate, certainly! Although...for smile-making, I find myself suspecting that those twins might just win hands-down!

    1. Ha, the quantity is mostly due to lack of sleep, who needs sleep when you can write? (Obviously, I must tripple check grammar and spelling lol)

    1. Nancy, check out Ladies Who Critique (http://www.ladieswhocritique.com/) It's a great jumping off point.

@SK Anthony -- congrats on hitting those writing goals this week! Getting words to paper and then ...gulp... editing them always feels like a huge achievement. And wine makes it even better :)

  13. Nancy, I have been lucky to find ONE author friend who offered to read my MS. Other than that I haven't gone around asking others yet, there are lots of groups on Goodreads and other sites. You have to feel comfortable enough to do it, I'm still working on that comfort zone myself...

Nikkie, thank you for sharing that site, I'm about to go check it out now!

    1. I'm okay with allowing others to read my work. I guess I was unsure about the term "beta read."

Getting readers is task. I have a couple of people in my family, and Authonomy.com helped a lot with getting critiques on my first book. After that, I paid a couple of people to edit - non-professionals, but they helped.
