Get Healthy Blog Hop!

Thank you to the hosts: Stephen Tremp, L. Diane Wolfe, Michael Di Gesu & Alex J. Cavanaugh. They have teamed up for a Blog Hop that focuses on making 2013 a healthier year!

I have always considered myself to be a big fitness buff. Oh yes.
It doesn't mean that its true though. The very few people who know me IRL and are reading this are probably laughing. But let me say this: Just because there is no actual evidence that I've ever been a big fitness junkie doesn't mean I'm not. I mean in my mind I am, and that's that. I constantly think about working out. I constantly think about eating very healthy. And I constantly imagine myself in top notch shape. So I figure.... *I think* THEREFORE *I am*.... just not physically. And if there is no such thing as a honorary fitness buff then there should be.

Since I've had the big blessing of carrying twins, I've had to try my bestest to make it more than just honorary. Am I there yet? Nope. But I try by logging my nutrition, water consumption and workouts on My Fitness Pal when I remember to keep me accountable. I do different types of DVD workouts in combination with taking up jogging at the beginning of this year. My one goal I must meet is to jog at least 12 miles a week. Though, I will be honest and say I failed last week when the little people were sick. And you know what? That's OK. We all have a life to live and realistically speaking its impossible to have the same routine with no deviations now and again. The important thing is to keep going as soon as you have the chance.

I'm quite short so it doesn't take much for me to look unfit-like and that really really sucks. I have to lose about 15 lbs which doesn't sound like a whole lot and easy peasy but the problem is those are the lbs that LOVE me to death and refuse to break up with me. And since I love love I've had a hard time breaking its heart. Eventually, I'll do it though.

Actually, now that I said it on my blog I have to do it, right? Right! Now, let's see what I can actually accomplish.... I'll leave you with a few quotes that motivate me to keep trying:

A year from now you'll wish you would have started today.

(Go follow him if you aren't already)

You know how we become all friendly online with people but we are not sure what level of psycho they might be... AND... might be scared to meet them in person? Well, we created a Psycho-Meter to check on those levels. The thing is... until our machine is done with the reading, we are left vulnerable.  So obviously its only natural to bring weapons along, just in case. Also, I request a bag of money in payment for my fantastic friendship, FYI.

This is us meeting for the first time:

Giveaway & Cover Reveal: ONE by Mari Arden

Mary Arden

Jules Hendricks has had a string of bad "firsts."
Embarrassing first kiss. Traumatic first date. An obsessive first boyfriend she can't understand.
It's taken her years but she's finally able to leave her small town life behind for a new start as a freshmen at UW- Madison. For Jules this chance to be independent and rebuild her life is an opportunity she won't ever let anyone take from her again. She's determined to make something of herself without a man by her side, in front, behind or anywhere near her.
Reid "Pax" Paxton is the star quarterback for the UW Badgers. His brush with death makes him understand how precious life is, and how important it is to take life by the horns, unafraid. Jules knows he's dangerous for her. Dark hair. Smoldering eyes. Killer smile. That dimple. That body. Those arms. Pax is everything she's trying to run away from, but she can't help coming back for more. Slowly he begins to show a life together can be more than just a dream. It can be their reality. The truth about reality is it's not always sunshine and butterflies.
Sometimes it's a wasteland.
Sometimes secrets can't stay buried.
Sometimes your past will find a way to hunt you down.

Here is a teaser excerpt:
**Warning: the contents of this book are intended for readers 18+ and older due to explicit adult situations.
"Do I make you nervous?" His husky drawl drips like chocolate covering a ripe, round strawberry. Does he make me nervous? Does a simmering volcano make an ant nervous?
I swallow. "Nervous? I'm not nervous," I babble, refusing to look at him. I'm in physical pain. What's that thing I do where I take in air, and then let it out? Oh yeah, breathing. I need to do that.
            Like right now.
I make a strangled sound and inhale through my nostrils, taking in the smoky air like a ravenous puppy finding milk. Instantly I feel Pax's heat next to me. Soon I'll be immersed in it, wrapped in it.
            Wrapped around him.
So does that make me nervous? Only a hundred kinds of nervous.
"Time to begin!" Cade yells, as he jogs back to Pax and I, flashing his pearly whites. He pounds Pax on the back. "Don't drop the ball," he grins.
            "As if I ever do."
Cade turns to me. I see the second he registers my cleavage is exposed to the world. His eyes appraise me slowly. He gives me an appreciative grin. "Well, hello there."
"Hi," I reply. "Um, should we start now?" I don't mean to be rude, but I'm a second away from vomiting every cell inside me, and call me crazy, but I'd prefer not to start off my year known as the Vomiter.
"Yes," Pax glares at Cade. "Let's start." He inserts himself between us, blocking Cade's view of me. His firm, half naked body is next to my face. Pax's musky cologne combined with a sweaty scent unique to him assails my nostrils until my senses are reeling out of control.
Cade chuckles, looking amused. I want to glare at him. I don't find anything amusing about this. "Ready when you are."
Pax turns to me, his emerald eyes dark pools in the sunlight. This close I see every glorious inch of him, from the tiny stubbles of black hair covering the lower part of his face to the rippling six pack decorating his stomach like a tattoo. I don't dare look any lower. My pulse skitters. I forget to breathe. Something hard and hot unfurls in my belly. Unable to tear my gaze from him I watch helpless as his mouth drifts closer, until he' so close his breath mingles with mine.
            "Ride me."

Debut YA Novel
L.M. Augustine
"We can be friends for now. But West Ryder, if you think this means I won't fight for you with every last breath I have, you're in for a hell of a surprise."
135,789. That’s how many subscribers sixteen-year-old West Ryder has on his web vlog series. But he only has eyes for one of them.
As one of the internet’s most prestigious video bloggers, West talks about high school relationships under the name “Sam Green.” As far as he knows, no one from school, not even his best friend, Cat, has seen his videos. But the highlight of the whole thing is Harper Knight, who comments every day at exactly 2:02 in the afternoon. He doesn’t know anything about her aside from the occasional deep philosophical messaging on why pizza tastes so delicious, but as stupid as it sounds, he might be falling for her. So when they finally agree to meet in real life, West’s hope for romance seems more and more in reach. But that all changes as soon as he arrives at their meeting spot and sees Cat walking toward him, wearing the same 'I < 3  Sam Green' T-Shirt Harper promised she'd have on.

To his alarm, West realizes he is falling in love with the best friend who has always been a sister to him.

My 2nd and 3rd Liebster Award!

I've been given this award by Nancy LaRonda Johnson forever and a day ago... and also more recently by C.J. Sullivan. Thank you so much ladies! **Blushing**
Rules of the Liebster Blog Award:
- Tell 11 random things about yourself.
- Answer 11 questions from the blogger who nominated you.
- Post 11 questions for those who will be nominated by you.
- Nominate 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers.
- Get in contact with those 11 bloggers in order to inform them that you nominated them.

11 Random Things About Me
(I'm cheating here and sharing the same ones from my first Liebster)

1.~ I am afraid of Spiders.
2. ~ I am a mother of twins.
3. ~ I am addicted to my kid's laughter.
4. ~ I don't like talking on the phone. Unless it's my husband, mother or important. Cell phones are for texting and browsing the Internet. The home phone is for Telemarketers, whom I hang up on after wishing them good luck with the next call. (true, I feel for them) (bonus fact!)
5. ~ I like writing under the influence of wine.
6. ~ I like editing under the influence of coffee or Red Bull.
7. ~ When I paint my nails, my toe nails must match. Always.
8. ~ I very rarely watch scary movies.
9. ~ I live in Cyber Space, NY.
10. ~ I am fluent in Spanish, because....
11.~ I am half Spanish and half West-Indian.
I'm about to answer 22 questions, either get your drink of choice or skip to the end to find out if you have been nominated, you've been warned ;)
My 11 questions from Nancy LaRonda Johnson:
1. Does your name have a backstory? Were you named after someone, does it have a special meaning, etc.
~ Yes! My Mom found my name from a book she was reading when she was pregnant with me. And I fancy myself a writer, so coming from a book is fitting and cool :D
2. What’s the one thing you wish you could brag to everyone about?
~ That I once took care of a spider that was about to attack one of my babies. I did it all by myself and didn't even faint in the process. Kudos to me.
3. What’s your favorite word and why?
~ YES. It doesn't get more positive than that!
4. If you could eat as much of anything you wanted without stopping until you could pop whenever you wanted, what would it be?
~ Ice cream!
5. What’s the one thing you wish you could say to your spouse/parents/siblings/best friend but haven’t?
~ Well my parents and husband know... so not them. But my best friend and siblings: "I'm publishing a book by the end of the year, eeek!" (Yes, I would include the eek in the announcement)
6. If you could make someone in your family the MC in a book or story, who would it be and what type of character would they be?
~ My kids. In a kids story. They would use their super powers to help other little ones in need.
7. If you could be a #1 NY Times bestseller for the one book you’ve written and can ever write, or be a relatively unknown writer of many books, what would you choose and why?
~ This one is tough. I would of course love to hit the NY Times bestseller list, but ultimately I just want to share what's stuck in my head. There is a lot of stuff in there, so I guess it would be the relatively unknown writer of many books.
8. Who’s your favorite actor and in what movie?
~ I don't know! I like too many of them. I suppose RIGHT NOW, I can mention Hugh Jackman because I liked him in Les Miss... and I LOVE him as Wolverine, you know, for his abs claws. I even gave one of my characters the last name Logan in his honor.
9. If you could only have a TV or stereo system (and no other music playing device), which would you pick?
~ Hmm, TV... I would find a music channel and make it all work ;) {Its not a different device!}
10. Would you rather vacation somewhere hot or cold, and where would that be?
~ Somewhere hot for sure.  Hawaii again would be fantastic!
11. What’s your most controversial belief?
~ Well, I'm not sure who finds it controversial, but I believe everyone has the right to marry the person they love. I don't care who or what they are. I love my husband and can't imagine how crushing it would be if I wasn't allowed to marry him. What in the world is wrong with loving someone? It's love. That's all that matters.
Speaking of marriage... today is my 9th wedding anniversary, thought I'd throw that in there...
My 11 questions from C.J. Sullivan:
1. If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
~ No idea. None of the ones I come up have many pros, being human is good enough for me.
2. Is there anything you collect? If so, what?
~ Umm, books, shoes & shot glasses from all of our vacations.

3. What is your overall goal for your blog?
~ Connect with other writers and (hopefully) with future readers. Also, to share what I've learned... when I learn it..

4. How do you feel in big crowds of people?
~ Okay, I guess. I'm really shy so better in a crowd where I can hide than with very few people where I'll have to create chit chat.

5. Cell phones - what's your opinion of them?
~ They are for texting and social media purposes. Calls are for emergency only. I NEED mine.

6. If you could decorate your home in any style, what would it be?
~ Modern contemporary.

7. Do you believe in Extra Terrestrials?
~ Yes. I am one. Do not try to do experiments on me, it will not end well for you.
Ok, I'm not really one. But I am crazy about astronomy and such, and I cannot imagine than in the whole universe we are the ONLY planet where life was created. Maybe not in our own Milky Way Galaxy but somewhere out there.. I think so...

8. If you could meet any mythological creature, what would it be and why?
~ Oooh maybe a Zombie so I can smash its brains! (Obviously I have Walking Dead withdrawals) but since I'm not sure it counts as a mythological creature (though it popped up on google search as one) I'll go with a sweet Angel so he/she can tell me how it all really works.

9. Would you rather stay busy or have a lot of free time? Why?
~ I just want a great combination of both so I can use all my free time to get busy writing.

10. If you had a chance to travel to the moon, would you do it?
~ Nope. I'm scared of heights... and that's waaayy up there.

11. What music album are you still frequently listening to now that you also listened to years ago?
~ The oldest that I can think of is Bob Marley's album. Been listening to him since I was a very young kid and his music still brings a smile to my face.
Their Questions:

1 ~ Does your name have a back story? What is it?
2 ~ Is there anything you collect? If so what?
3 ~ What's the one thing you wish you could brag about?
4 ~ What would be your dream vacation spot?
5 ~ Who is your biggest supporter?
6 ~ What is your biggest pet peeve?
7 ~ What books have most influenced your life?
8 ~  So you believe in Extra Terrestrials?
9 ~ If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one thing, what would it be?
10 ~ What is your most controversial belief?
11 ~ What music album are you still listening to now that you also listened to years ago?
