Synopsis:

Being strong is one thing. Being an unlimited source of power is quite another.

Genetically altered by the Organization, Annie Fox takes down criminals CIA-style with her luminary strength. With nothing to mend but her broken heart, she is relentlessly pursued by her boss Derek Lake. Just when Annie is about to give him a chance, her ex-husband unexpectedly comes out of hiding.

A wanted man, Nick Logan is a cold-hearted murderer who is considered enemy number one, and orders are clear: kill on contact. He is more powerful than ever and threatens the lives of those she holds most dear. His plan? Get his hands on Annie and use her Kinetic energy to destroy them all. When Annie finds herself with an opportunity to end him, she pauses, horrified by the scars covering the face she once loved. A split second that will cost her everything…

    1. Wine!

Oh.. food... of the junk category? Peanut M&M's!
... though I stay away from it as much as I can. And if I'm being honest, I also stare at the varieties of chips and chocolates my kids have, drool a little, and then return to wine or redbull drinking. :P

      Editing for sure!
Not the technical or grammar aspect but the story lines. I get a headache trying to figure out the best way to fix my little issues 0_o

    1. Would I like it... probably not.. I'm not as brave as she is.
But if I had it I would be doing exactly what she does with it: she protects innocent lives and she fights for the good ;)

    1. It is a stand alone novel.
BUT... there are more books with other "Luminaries" in the same setting who have their own stories to tell ;)
We will see new characters but we will catch glimpses of the old ones as well!

  9. Big congrats to you SK!! The cover is gorgeous. My question is how much part did you have to play in the cover design? Did you just give the designer a blurb? Or did you have a vision?

    1. Oh my goodness,

I think the cover designer was ready to smack me around, though she never said this lol.
I really bugged her until she had my vision come to life but she far exceeded my expectations with this final image. Regina is truly amazing and never questioned any thing I threw at her, she is so game and.. did I mentioned amazing? ;)

  10. Hi Katherine, Congratulations on the fantastic cover! It's really captivating and I'm sure your book is as well. Where did you get the idea for the book?

    1. Deanie, I truly cannot pin point it. I just liked the idea of having a secret organization with super powers and a heroine who was broken inside but used that pain to help keep the innocent safe. ;)

    1. About 4 years ago.
BUT I let fear stop me more times than I care to admit. This novel has been rewritten an insane amount of times, though, I'm happy to say the major points I envisioned stayed the same. I'm also glad I did not rush because I'm happier now with the smaller details ;)

  13. Wow! That's a gorgeous cover!!! Wonderful reveal! (I'll probably put something up on Friday for it, if that's ok).
    Questions:
Are you going to use the questions for topics on blog tour guest posts?
Is this novel set in "current day" or is it a future dystopian society?
How many others like Annie? Is she one of a kind?

    Have an awesome day!

    1. Tyrean, that would be fantastic. Thank you!

lol no that was not my intention at all but it is a great idea! I just figured it would be a nice way for my blogger friends to get to know me better.

Ok, the answers to the last two questions are going to intertwine a bit. The novel is set in "current day"... though this one in particular is a few years back. There are others like Annie that have their special abilities and use them to ...serve the government... fight crimes, etc. There is a character I introduce in Kinetic that is a bit young, that character's story will be the next book's, and the next book will be set in 2013-2014.

    1. Thank you MOM <3

My childhood... the one in which you shared your love of books with me? It has the BIGGEST impact.
Plus, the fact that my name- which you chose so lovingly for me- is from a book... well, it is like destiny if you ask me. If you hadn't taught me the power of words and the amazing ways in which one can travel to different dimensions through stories that spark from a single idea in a person's brain, I wouldn't be writing today.

I love you and thank you for always believing in me ;)
      Also... don't cry! lol

Best book this year... Kinetic? no? lol okay...
I actually have read quite a few awesome books from my author friends... but I refuse to name just one of theirs... so I'll go with a very popular one. Fun and light: Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion.

  16. I just saw your cover on Goodreads and I had to find you to tell you that it is beautiful and the blurb is great too.

But what I really wanted to tell you is that YOU are striking too. So I'll play your game and ask: Why aren't you on the cover?

Love your sense of humor, I was reading back to some of your posts, your book will do well. Too bad you couldn't afford your own services but at least you are decorating this blog with your pretty self. I will stop now so I don't make you uncomfortable but just wanted to state a fact that no one else has acknowledge yet.

      Good luck with Kinetic!

  27. I'm probably missing the obvious, given that it's early in the morning for me, and I haven't had my coffee yet. But, I heard about you and your book on the blog, WRITER'S DIARIES (just wanted to give that recognition so you know how I found you). This book sounds incredible and a must-read. So, I want to pre-order it and started looking and discovered I can't find where to find it. So... Where can I find it? (Again, I might be missing the obvious on your blog--and I apologize if I am.)

Thank you kindly--and wishing you MUCH writing and publishing success!

I look forward to getting to know your writing--and you in the process.

    Have a blessed day.
