A to Z Challenge Reflections

I did it!

I survived . . . I think.

This was my first challenge and I have to admit it was overwhelming. I thought I would have more than enough time to visit a lot of blogs because I had all 26 posts prescheduled, and well . . . wasn't that a slap in the face? Yes, yes it was. Don't worry that slap didn't hurt, and if it did I was too tired to notice. I didn't meet hundreds of new bloggers like I thought I would, but the few I did meet are quality connections and awesome people. If I visited you, you're one of them and I like you. I like you like I like chocolate, so I'll keep coming back for more, and more, and more.

Apart from the constant 'go' I had a lot of fun visiting blogs, I woke up every morning looking forward to reading straight from your creative minds. I laughed out loud, felt all sorts of emotions, learned a lot of things, and I think most importantly I was inspired. I'm not sure what I will do different next year since time is the biggest issue. The main thing I'm keeping in mind is this: just because April is over it doesn't mean I can't still go visit A to Z challengers and keep on meeting new people. I have a whole year to catch up a bit more. Right?

Thank you everyone for making the month of April a wild fun ride and thanks to everyone who stopped by for my S.K.-word of the day. Also big thanks to the Challenge Team: Alex J. Cavanaugh, Tina at Life is Good, Jeremy at Being Retro, Nicole Ayers at The Madlab Post, Stephen Tremp, M. J. Joachim, Heather M. Gardner,  Damyanti at Amlokiblogs, AJ at Naturally Sweet, Pam at An Unconventional Librarian, and the A to Z Challenge founder Arlee Bird at Tossing it Out!

  2. I'm with you on the overwhelming thing. I kept up with getting my own posts sorted, but checking out many of the others and trying to keep up with comments? I failed miserably at both.
Still, there is the rest of the year to get caught up and plenty of blogs to be discovered!

  3. A to Z is awesome, but can be completely overwhelming as you said. That's why I skipped it this year. :-)

  6. Thank you so much for your isms! They were just fabulous! I really enjoyed them.

I never get a lot of people visiting. Nor do I get to visit a lot of new people. With more than 2000 participants, it's understandable. I'm stilm trying to find the elusive beast called time....

    1. And you never know, but that I might have you as a Mystery Blogger! You can guess so much more easily when you recognize your own posts from the previous year. :-)

    2. I bet I can lol
And even though I only recognized a handful of Mystery Bloggers I enjoyed the snippets of info you shared from them. That was really great and my goodness . . . I can imagine the research time you put into that! :)

  15. I can tell you had fun with your posts this month. I confess that I visited a number of blogs that I didn't comment on, which is a tough confession for me because I'm all about commenting on blogs (especially when it comes to people commenting on MY blog!). It is tough keeping up with everyone, especially if you have a limited amount of time, and you're trying to visit your regulars as well as take in some new blogs. I'm not sure what to do about that, except try harder next time. Sounds like my old report cards. "Commenting: Could do better. C-" *sigh*

    Congrats for finishing! :)

  16. I really enjoyed reading your posts! Following Alex's advice to write and pre-schedule the posts ahead of time was the only thing that got me through the hop, so I know how you feel. Alex is the best!

  20. Yay! It was such a glorious challenge, and congrats for making it through! I was totally with you, prewritten, ready to go, distractions aside, and I still probably only stopped into 200 new blogs during the challenge. I guess that's probably good, but I only heard back from around 75 of those. Granted, I definitely made some new friends so it was totally worth it.

Next year is a definite for you, eh? I'm still undecided. It's going to depend on what happens in the next 5 months with moving and settling.

    1. I *think* it's a definite. Let me see how busy I'll be in 2015 before I really decide.

Congrats on making it through too! Sad that not everyone returned to you, but you networked more than I did, for sure. Yay Crystal! :)

  22. A to Z really is overwhelming. I still haven't figured out how to get my posts done, comments, respond to comments and keep up with my life. Oh well there's always next year.

    1. I think we have to give up more aspects of our lives so we can keep up with comments . . . which is more important? lol
